Work in Progress
Biography:
Dr. Hasila Jarimi is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, National University of Malaysia (UKM). Her primary research interests include solar thermal energy systems, energy storage technologies, sustainable HVAC applications, and the development of net-zero energy buildings.
She received her Ph.D. in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK, where she also worked on advanced thermal storage integration for low-carbon buildings. Dr. Jarimi has more than 50 publications in international journals and conferences and is an active collaborator in multidisciplinary research initiatives.
Her notable research contributions include:
- Development and evaluation of solar thermoelectric hybrid systems
- Optimization of latent heat storage with nano-enhanced PCM materials
- Design modeling of net-zero energy homes in tropical climates
- Integration of solar-assisted heat pump systems in real-building applications
Dr. Jarimi regularly publishes in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Applied Thermal Engineering, and Energy and Buildings, and serves as a reviewer in more than 20 peer-reviewed journals. She is also part of collaborative projects focused on sustainable energy transitions in Southeast Asia.
Awards and Contributions:
Key contributor to Malaysia’s national guidelines on low-carbon building retrofitting
