Abstract:
Work in Progress
Biography:
Dr. Edwin Geo Varuvel is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. With over 15 years of research and teaching experience, he is a leading expert in renewable energy systems, biofuel combustion, and thermal sciences.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in sustainable combustion and bioenergy. His interdisciplinary research spans:
- Renewable and bio-based fuels
- Thermodynamics and internal combustion engine performance
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
- Exergy and energy optimization
- Sustainable transport systems
Dr. Varuvel has authored over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles in top-tier journals including Applied Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy, and Fuel. His pioneering studies on the use of non-edible oils like Calophyllum in diesel engines have opened new avenues for eco-friendly transport fuels.
He collaborates extensively with institutions in India, France, and the UK, and serves as a reviewer for over 30 international journals. He has also participated in several government and industry-sponsored clean energy projects and actively contributes to engineering education, mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate students in thermal systems and fuel innovation.
